Hello,
I'm working on recompiling Zip2000 for use on the BeagleBoard (With
allignment exceptions turned on)
This is my first attempt at getting into working with C and the
Norcroft tools.

When I attempt to compile the source for Zip2000, I get the following
errors;

objasm -throwback -APCS 3/32bit -depend !Depend -from @.s.fgete -to
@.o.fgete
ARM AOF Macro Assembler 4.01 (Acorn Computers Ltd) [04 Jul 2011]
Warning: Deprecated instruction (STM with SP or PC in register
list)Unable to start throwback session, error 0x20603 'No task
registered for throwback'
AMU: *** exit (1) ***

AMU: *** '!RunImage' not re-made because of errors ***

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to fix this.

Many Thanks,
Rob.

What text editor are you using? Zap, and I assume StrongEd, will cope
with a throwback session.

I've been using StrongEd v4.68, I'll give Zap a try and see what
happens!

I've switched to Zap, and I'm no longer getting the error.

Should StrongEd be able to cope with throwback sessions?

Yes, but v4.68 is not full ARM v7/BeagleBoard compatible. Try

Thanks James,
I've tried that version on the BeagleBoard and I still get the same
error, I also tried v4.68 on VirtualAcorn and that gave me the same
error!

Are there some options I need to setup in StrongED?

Rob.

Yes, most certainly. It has always worked straight out of the box
here.

The only configuration I can find is in StrongED's Global Choices in
'Respond to' for 'Throwback requests', which is enabled by default.

I think I'll try deleting my StrongED config files and start again.
I can see that option for responding to throwback requests, so it
sounds like it's something I'm doing wrong.

It is possible to try a vanilla StrongED install by unzipping
!StrongED and !StrED_cfg to the same directory somewhere out of the
way such as the RAM disc, quit any already running StrongED then CTRL
double click the temporary !StrongED, shift-select on StrongED's
iconbar icon will show where it is finding its StrED_cfg.

The mechanism for this is in !StrongED.SetupCfg.

Thanks David,
I'll give that a try tonight.

Yes, StrongED will handle throwback sessions _if_ it's registered with
the DDEUtils module. Registering with the module is done when StrongED
starts.

It may be that DDEUtils wasn't running when you started StrongED so
registering failed, resulting in the error you were seeing. Please try
running the module first then starting StrongED and see if throwback is
working. If not, then please let me know and I'll have a look at it.

Thanks Fred,
StrongED is handing throwback sessions on my Virtual Acorn
installation, I'll try it again on the BeagleBoard and let you know.

Just a quick update, after updating to StrongED 4.69a5 on the
BeagleBoard, and ensuring that DDEUtils module is running, throwback
sessions are now working!

Thanks for all the help.
