I haven't tried to find out more about you via the internet. And, I
tend to take things with a bit more than a grain of salt when it
comes to reading it on the internet. As far as being unsure about me,
heh, You clearly haven't got the foggiest idea who I am, despite the
arguments I tend to have with some of my fanbase. ROFL. Some things
really are easier to hide right under a persons nose, in plain sight.

How many programs altogether, or, specific purpose? I've been writing
code since I was a kiddo, so...I wouldn't even try to take a guess.
Let's just say alot. In various languages - ranging from logos to
assembler.

Some of my programs have articles written about them. Ranging from
reviews with awards to technical information concerning it's specific
functions.

You can find some of my legit code stuff at the url below. I do
caution you, it's very old stuff, isn't supported and may not even
natively run on the OS you're using. If you've been a reader of
alt.comp.freeware since the mid 90s, you might have seen some of
these programs reviews posted here. They typically won four out of
five stars on zdnet and they would have gotten all five, had the
documentation been more professional.

I'd submit them for review and publication to a wider audience. Most
of them have also been published on those shareware/freeware mass
distribution cdroms that BBS operators once purchased to increase the
files available to their users.

http://bughunter.it-mate.co.uk/core/

The last application I wrote in house, from scratch and supported for
three years that was made available to the public was this:

http://bughunter.it-mate.co.uk/

And there's an entirely seperate class of programs. ranging from
cracks/keygens to executable file infecting viruses. Not word macros,
rofl, no, these were the real thing. A few families of them are
viruses AND worms.

In other words, you're barking up the wrong tree and your comment
isn't based on fact, rather, it's fiction.

Are you trained by your family to become a programmer? Not me.

How many other programming languages have you ever experienced other
than the one you used to write your malware scanner?

It's easy to bully others over internet.

No.

The malware scanner uses assembler and a much lesser known language.

C,C++,C--,delphi,pascal,assembler,fortran,cobol,logos,various
dialects of basic, various script languages. Would be hard to put an
exact number on it...

Did you notice that the way commands and functions work are a little bit
different from each other in various programming languages? Their syntax
and semantics are also different though they are all in English.

That's what I wanna say.

>> It's easy to bully others over internet.

Programming is still translation of human languages into high-level
languages, then compiled into lower level languages, then computer
instructions. Algorithms might not be a computer program itself. They
could be some workflow (e.g. accounting, form filling, ...) or
mathematics (e.g. Fourier Transform in MP3 encoding and decoding).

BTW, read your reply again and tell me whether it smelled like bullying. :)

<begin quote>
You're an idiot. Unless you're porting a program from one language to
another, you aren't really doing much language translation when you
write software, unless you're using a very very broad brush to claim
that the act of writing a program to have the computer perform a
specific task is simply a matter of translating our language to it's
own? Quite a stretch if that's what your thinking. Incidently,
programmers tend to write a lot of algorithms in the process of
developing whatever application their writing.

I still believe US has a proper education system. But then, to quote
you, there are always "drop-outs" from even the best schools. There are
also graduates who betrayed what they were taught for personal interests
and ambitions.

Could we treat ISIS as drop-outs from Muslim and Islam belief? ;)

No, I merely assume that Mr. Man-wai Chang is either a troll or a
complete moron. I haven't quite figured out which - if there is a
difference.

And I also assume that when Google is worried about some 100 of their
programmers that will not get into the USA, it is because they think
they are good programmers - that's why they hired them.

That does not mean that those are the /best/ 100 programmers, merely
that they are some of the best that Google was able to find.

>
> If your assumption is valid, are you willing to cede yet another
> industry to "foreigners?"

I am not American, nor do I live there or have any intention of visiting
(Bush's "War on Tourism" was quite successful). America did not invent
computers or programming, though Americans have played a major and vital
part in the process, and there is a great deal of programming done in
the rest of the world already.

Part of what made America the centre for programming is that it has
collected key people from all over the world (indeed, that applies to
most aspects of what made America "great"). Relatively few "great
programmers" are going to be affected directly by the current
restrictions - but other potential immigrants are going to worry about
who will be next, and some will boycott the USA in principle. And the
same applies to other industries, especially in the sciences.

>
> Why do you think US education isn't turning out first-class
> programmers?

I don't know much about the US education system. But I do know that
America imports significant "brain power" in a programming and a wide
range of other fields, including from these banned countries. To get
their visas, an American company employing them has to show that the
"foreigner" is a better candidate than anyone available locally.

>
> If it isn't, do you favor a permanent condition where the best
> programmers are not in the USA?

There are a lot of good programmers in the USA. But I see no reason to
suspect that the /best/ programmers are currently in the USA. And yes,
I favour a condition where most people are able to do the best work they
can in their particular fields without feeling they have to emigrate (to
the USA or anywhere else) to do so - while it should still be /possible/
for people to move if they want to. The world would be a far better
place if smart people were able to do their work in their own countries.

His claim (that "muslim is not a religion") is correct, but nobody was
making that claim. Mr burfordTjustice set up a straw-man so that he
could knock it down.
