My notebook is "only" nine years old, but with a Duo-Core CPU. Board has 4 GB RAM, running 32-Bit (PAE) Debian. The Gnome GUI runs fine - *if* not too many apps are running at the same time. Also have RealTek chips for network (Ethernet and WIFI) built in. F'up2 comp.os.linux.misc (I don't read the other groups). -- Andreas
