A person on news:comp.lang.ada criticizes Musk software over not being
written in Ada. I do not know whether or not Musk uses Ada.

Does ANYONE use Ada anymore ???

It's a FRUSTRATING language, puts barriers
behind barriers to keep you from doing what
you need to do in any sane/efficient manner.

No wonder the govt loved it.

And NOT sure that makes it so much 'safer'.
Well-done 'C'/FORTRAN/COBOL can be as good.

Wrote a few shortish programs in Ada just to
try it out, lists pointing to lists pointing
to lists and similar fun, mini-database kind
   of stuff. Never again.

Just for the record, I don't think they SHOULD
be using Ada. A highly imperfect 'solution' for
a largely imaginary peril. Would be interested
in seeing data on the suicide rate for Ada
   programmers though :-)

I believe that no Ada programmer ever commits a suicide. I am an
Adaist who will never choose to commit a suicide!
