Interestingly, I saw flat roofs in Ottawa.
And I know some supermarkets that have flat roofs here, supported by
flat wooden beams. But as there are not thick enough, long enough wooden
beams here, they pile maybe a dozen beams tied vertically with iron girdles.

I don't know the name of the system. And on top of it, some sort of
undulated metallic or fibre roofing.
