I can't see HOW to Re-post this to the *3* related LINUX-groups like
my OP *INTENDED* [after due consideration].
1=the problem manifests in Slakware.
2=Debian seems a well regimented commumity.
3=linux.misc may find answers from NOT (Slak & Debian)

BTW red-hat used to be a big family; but 3 groups seemed to fill-the-line.

I suspect that you TOO didn't understand the problem.
