I remember a John Birch Society meeting in, iirc, 1963, where the party line was Dwight Eisenhower was a Communist dupe and Milton, his brother, was his handler. Some of the animosity came from Eisenhower appointing Earl Warren as chief justice. Their battle cry was 'Impeach Earl Warren!'.
