Well now for some reason, LFE (sub) works.  The rear right still comes
out the rear left, and the rear left is absent.  The current .asoundrc is:

(plus some commented-out stuff)

Can you explain what the ttable columns mean?  The last number looks like
a level, and the second looks like an output channel.

Upgrading the distro is a last resort.  Many things break, including my
workflow.  IIRC ALSA is as modern as my distro allows.  Lemme check...
