Last years flu vaccination does not work largely because of evolution. Antibiotic resistant "superbugs" are from evolution and some insects now happily eat many pesticides. Other organisms have evolved to eat nylon... and with you bringing up radiation they have looked around Chernobyl and found birds and mammals and plants adapted to live in areas of high radiation. The ecosystem there is still not suitable for human life, but other life is actually doing quite well. These are things in just a few short years. We look at that and hear people call that "micro-evolution". Well, it happened in a very short span of time. Keep allowing those changes to happen for a few million years and you get more changes than you do in 20 or 100 years.
