See, that's where Apple's approach is interesting. Unlike Samsung which releases a phone for virtually every imaginable user, Apple just releases one or two models and hopes that the experience on each will cater to every imaginable user. Would you rather pick from one of two phones, depending on your use and budget or from around 50 like what Samsung has? The knowledgeable know that the S series is the flagship, but most people don't. -- Slimer OpenMedia, GreenPeace Supporter & SPCA Paw Partner Encrypt.

(A few months later Samsung was fined for this.) <quote> Fair-trade officials in Taiwan are looking into reports that Samsung paid people to criticise rival HTC online. Samsung hired students to post negative comments about phones made by Taiwan's HTC. Samsung, based in South Korea, said the "unfortunate incident" had gone against the company's "fundamental principles". A local website had published documents appearing to show Samsung had been recruiting students to criticise HTC and praise Samsung anonymously on the web, reported PC Advisor. </quote> http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22166606

(for citation, see below) <https://groups.google.com/forum/message/raw?msg=comp.os.linux.advocacy/rkl0gFREIrg/1CdSlVdxR4kJ> <https://groups.google.com/d/msg/comp.os.linux.advocacy/rkl0gFREIrg/yVZ2GqVv1_AJ> ... that you've been not only accommodating the IT preferences of others (rather than make them Linux converts) but which means that it is quite likely that you've rationalized your "I don't need" while trying to stretch the typical household budget to cover a half dozen children (which, with the typical cost of college these days makes a ton of sense, too). > And you can't much stupider than the idiot ecosystem that > has developed around all things iCultish. Well, perhaps if you had more "interest" in such Apple matters, you would have better educated yourself on just what was being litigated and what was propoganda being fed to the uneducated & unwashed masses. Here's hoping that the sacrifices you're presently making will help your kids to be better educated than that which you've demonstrated for yourself. -hh

Well, when one is wealthy it is a moot point then. I like their Time Machine backup.

Time Machine is not perfect... OS X slows down to much on disk activity and you cannot set Time Machine to run only at night or whatever (well, you can, but not easily). It also has some challenges with finding a file when you do not know when it was saved (though even that is not hard if you use the Finder interface built in and not the Time Machine one). BUT, for the general user it is the easier to set up, most reliable, and most trouble free backup solution I have ever seen. -- * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mavericks / Pages 5.1: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>
