Time Machine is not perfect... OS X slows down to much on disk activity and
you cannot set Time Machine to run only at night or whatever (well, you can,
but not easily). It also has some challenges with finding a file when you do
not know when it was saved (though even that is not hard if you use the
Finder interface built in and not the Time Machine one).

BUT, for the general user it is the easier to set up, most reliable, and
most trouble free backup solution I have ever seen.
