Short and fat, or as the GNU/Linux world sees it, tall and muscular.

Remember that picture of Dumb Willy getting his hospital maintenance man
award? I didn't think it was possible but Dumb Willy has the physique of
Superman compared to this slob.

"Vallor" needs to spend less time playing his Gerbil Space Simulator game
and start getting some exercise. Cutting down on the number of double-bacon
cheeseburgers per day wouldn't be a bad move either.

in *every* quarterly SEC filing, that Linux users made up over 17% of all

Q:	How many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb?
A:	Whereas the party of the first part, also known as "Lawyer", and the
party of the second part, also known as "Light Bulb", do hereby and forthwith
agree to a transaction wherein the party of the second part shall be removed
from the current position as a result of failure to perform previously agreed

at an area just inside the primary living area, demarcated by the beginning of
the carpet, any spillover illumination being at the option of the party of the
second part and not required by the aforementioned agreement between the
parties.
The aforementioned removal transaction shall include, but not be

elevation at his option, by means of a chair, stepstool, ladder or any other
means of elevation, grasp the party of the second part and rotate the party
of the second part in a counter-clockwise direction, this point being tendered

becomes fully detached from the receptacle, the party of the first part shall
have the option of disposing of the party of the second part in a manner
consistent with all relevant and applicable local, state and federal statutes.
Once separation and disposal have been achieved, the party of the first part
shall have the option of beginning installation. Aforesaid installation shall
occur in a manner consistent with the reverse of the procedures described in
step one of this self-same document, being careful to note that the rotation
should occur in a clockwise direction, this point also being non-negotiable.
The above described steps may be performed, at the option of the party of the

Not only that, but they're just plain wrong.

Dane and Dustin (who is cut off on the left) waylaid me at my wedding as
"payback" for an old picture we took while as SRJC:

   http://imgur.com/tW1QGOx

In which I sat up straight while my compatriots slouched. In the new
photo, they dragged me way back so they both towered over me.

But it doesn't matter, because DFS lives in a doublewide, has drunk
himself into diabetes, and still bing drinks. All he can do is post
inaccuracies in hopes of dragging others down -- a sad life to live,
which will also be short, unless he changes something.

You have no fucking neck.
You are a bloated blob who is in need of a serious diet and intensive
exercise program.
I'm not trying to drag you down, I'm giving you a dose of reality.
I was there myself, not fat, skinny as a rail in fact, but way, way out of
shape. It took a heart attack to wake me up.
My veins and muscles were rotting away and I had to make serious changes in
my lifestyle and so do you.

Please listen.

The world's health community has been warning about the risks of obesity for
decades. There isn't anyone who can claim ignorance and pretend they didn't
know. If he can't be bothered to listen by now then your post isn't going to
change his mind.

Vallor can try and defend it with whatever excuse he wants. He can even
blame "the trolls" for trying to make him look bad.

Excuses... trolls... bad camera lighting... it doesn't change the facts. One
look at his picture and it's obvious to everyone that he's beyond obese.

I remember going to a hotel once with my wife where there was a mirror
on the ceiling. I lay there, naked, and thought that the position I was
in made me look particularly bad. Then I realized that it wasn't the
position, it was just me... I needed to lose weight to look as good as I
knew that I could. That's what I ended up doing and I no longer have to
feel bad about my body. If vallor had a shred of honesty (which seems
unlikely as he is a COLA advocate), he would notice that the problem is
him and not the lighting and do something about it. However, maybe he
finds himself to look quite good as a blob.

I was probably at the same place. I was in my 20's and you could rent the
room 4-hrs at a time.

Here's a real classy place:

   http://www.greenwoodfantasuites.com/fantasuites/

Check out the Venetian Holiday suite. It's just like Venice only better.
That 15" CRT television at the end of the gondola bed looks amazing.

Realizing if you're overweight or not isn't that difficult. It's not like
we're just talking about "love handles" here.

Well, we were in our 20s and we clearly weren't there to advocate GNU/Linux.

I was in denial about how chubby I actually was. I had to see myself
naked to really understand how bad I looked.

Ate myself into diabetes, bozo (while sitting too much at work). But
it's one of life's cruelties that a lazy, morbidly obese Hutt like you
doesn't have diabetes, while a muscular 6'1" 210 lb madman like me does.

I did have 2 beers and some Prosecco at New Years, but that was about it
for all of 2015.

What part is "inaccurate", Bloaty?

Did I say you ate a dozen donuts a day, when it's really two dozen?

Note: it's partly genetic, too, since my Grandfather died of pancreatic
cancer, and my Dad is diabetic. Count yourself lucky; the rate of
diabetes in America has risen slower than the rate of obesity.

The reality is that just about everyone nowadays is at risk of
developing diabetes. The average American diet is an awful one and
healthy food is ignored in favour of whatever is easiest to prepare or
most delicious. I'm in good shape myself but I wouldn't be surprised to
discover that some of my earliest mistakes with diet could allow me to
develop diabetes eventually as well.

You are spot-on in your assessment of the American diet, I'm afraid. Most
of our pre-teen children are obese, that's how bad things have gotten.

The biggest issue that I have with the American diet is not even the
diet itself as much as the quality of the food itself. Most fruits and
vegetables there are doused in pesticides (whether they be
genetically-modified or not) which is clearly going to have an effect on
the people's health. However, the people don't eat those as much as they
do pre-packaged foods which have pesticides AND preservatives. Many of
them also have things such as aspartame which has a disgusting effect on
the human brain in addition to causing chaos with insulin levels. Add to
that meat which is by default incredibly unhealthy but which is mostly
pink slime rather than actual meat in the United States and you're
looking at a true health disaster.

My solution to this would be a vegan diet based on organic foods but I
wouldn't force it on anyone: let the dumb kill themselves with the
horrible food while the smarter individuals make the proper changes.
However, make sure that health care is NOT free so that those who made
the bad choice don't end up clogging the system for those who _aren't_
slowly committing suicide.

YMMV, as I can think of several such persons here.

Of course, part & parcel with this is that there's
different metrics by which one can constitutes 'success',
and there is no one true correct answer which has been
carved in stone. For example, if we go back to the
parents of the Boomers (the Greatest Generation), one
of their metrics was to have successfully paid off the (VA)
home mortgage: how many here have done that?
More so if they had accomplished that before turning 50.

> If someone has done more, they're hiding it.

Simply takes some insight into the Id, Ego, & Superego
and the discipline/willpower to maintain control, such as
over information. For some folks, you'll have problems
finding family info (kids, etc) and for a few, you'll even
hit a brick wall in finding out the names of their pets -
even when you know definitively that there's a critter:
remember, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Same principles applies here to to control one's impulses
to maintain balance with health, such as through moderation.

Fair enough, but that also doesn't excuse what's been
clinically identified as a hazardous BMI.

Starving wasn't what was being suggested.

There's ample latitude below clinical obesity levels to
offer happiness without privations.

& typically, lifecycle costs are lower when there's fewer

In any event, the question isn't spending per se, but rather
just what ones' specific priorities are. One measure of success
could be to not only have enough for today to do what one wants,
but to also be putting away an acceptable amount for ones' plans
