What does that last statement tell you? In such areas, given that stats
show a police officer is 18.9 times more likely to be killed by a black
male (who, at 6% commit 42% of police officer deaths), you wouldn't
think it prudent for them to exhibit a "bias" if they want to come home
from work that night? It's a war zone, the things we'd all like to
believe should be done can't be done, there'd be no one left alive to
do them.

You are backing racial quotas of a sort... a type of affirmative action
if you will. I am against judging people based on the racial group they
are in.
How do you reconcile treating people differently based on their racial
group here but not doing so on, say, college entrance or hiring practices?

I'm pointing out how they undoubtedly *must* be forced to look
at things in a way that you and I will never have to if they want to
live through the day.
> a type of affirmative action if you will.
That's not affirmative action.
If you consider that these areas are war zones then the question
of how you define "bias" comes into play. Most definitions are
based on the concept of prejudice:
preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
When your group is dying at the lopsided rate officers do, I'm not
sure one even could logically argue it's not based on reason or
actual experience.
> I am against judging people based on the racial group they
> are in.
As a person who isn't many times more likely to die at the hands
of a black person in a low income, high crime area, you have that
luxury. In a war zone such 'judging' is often a matter of life and
death so I'd imagine taking public heat isn't a high priority. That
said, due to the 'public heat' over shooting of "unarmed" blacks,
which doesn't always mean they are cooperative, a lot of officers
have decided not to engage at all, making the streets less safe.
The stories that don't get as much coverage are the ones where
the black residents complain about a lack of police presence. I
see this only getting worse, not better.
> How do you reconcile treating people differently based on their racial
> group here but not doing so on, say, college entrance or hiring practices?
Generally speaking, in those contexts you're not being shot at
by people who are killing you at a much higher rate than you're
killing them.

They no more have to judge people by the color of their skin than colleges
and employers have to with affirmative action.
You back such judging when it goes against someone with dark skin but not
when it benefits them.

You are STILL backing judging people by the color of their skin (but only
when it is harmful to blacks).

You are STILL backing blaming innocent people based on the color of their
skin.

Most black people are not shooting anyone!

No one has to do anything... but prudence suggests that it would
be in their interest to do so if they want to live when policing in the
high crime areas.

I back common sense, a trait that enables me to differentiate
between wildly varied contexts so I don't arrive at a broad based
'solution' to problems that aren't remotely similar. Equating
policing in high crime areas with college/job related issues is so
far past ludicrous I can't come up with a word to describe it...
even 'totally clueless' isn't strong enough.

I'm just recognizing that police officers in these high crime areas
don't have the luxury not to. I may not like it, but that's the reality
of the situation. I want police officers to be able to do their jobs.
I don't like the idea that they felt so much political pressure that
they have stopped doing it in many areas. I believe that leads to
further breakdown along color lines. No matter how you handle it
someone is going to scream "racist"!
(but only when it is harmful to blacks).
Blacks? Or black criminals?
Who do you think has been killed more often?

OK, you are back to your game playing nonsense... you JUST said how they have to target blacks differently as they SHOOT people because they face more black criminals (and even a higher percentage of blacks as criminals). You are directly supporting holding ALL blacks responsible for the actions of a minority and talking about how it makes sense for police to shoot blacks more readily than they do whites. You went back to your games where you demand I quote back to you what
you have said... and then denying you said it because I spoke of what I
disagree with in your views but did not use your exact words.
Even worse you do this AS you lie about what I have said, in this case
claiming I "equated policing in high crime areas with job/college
issues". You made that up in response to my noting I do not back
grouping people by color in either situation, which does not in any way
imply the two situations are equal.
But back to your support of judging people by the color of their skin,
and you being OK with this in situations where black people are shot!
http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0141854
——
The results provide evidence of a significant bias in the killing of
unarmed black Americans relative to unarmed white Americans, in that the
probability of being {black, unarmed, and shot by police} is about 3.49
times the probability of being {white, unarmed, and shot by police} on
average. Furthermore, the results of multi-level modeling show that
there exists significant heterogeneity across counties in the extent of
racial bias in police shootings, with some counties showing relative
risk ratios of 20 to 1 or more. Finally, analysis of police shooting
data as a function of county-level predictors suggests that racial bias
in police shootings is most likely to emerge in police departments in
larger metropolitan counties with low median incomes and a sizable
portion of black residents, especially when there is high financial
inequality in that county. There is no relationship between county-level
racial bias in police shootings and crime rates (even race-specific
crime rates), meaning that the racial bias observed in police shootings
in this data set is not explainable as a response to local-level crime
rates.

What does that last statement tell you? In such areas, given
that stats show a police officer is 18.9 times more likely
to be killed by a black male (who, at 6% commit 42% of
police officer deaths), you wouldn't think it prudent for
them to exhibit a "bias" if they want to come home from work
that night? It's a war zone, the things we'd all like to
believe should be done can't be done, there'd be no one left
alive to do them.
-----
I'm pointing out how they undoubtedly *must* be forced to
look at things in a way that you and I will never have to if
they want to live through the day.
-----

That is you, Carroll, noting your support for targeting people based on
the color of their skin in determining who to shoot. You can cry and
whine and lie when faced with your own words, as you did during your
tantrum over a black person being shown as an example of healthy
masculinity, but you still are responsible for your words.
You have always shown racist tendencies but you used to be better at
hiding them... you used to want to be the KKK member who never had his
hood lifted. Now, perhaps based on Trump's open bigotry and how he has
made it more acceptable in this nation to be a bigot, you have a harder
time keeping your hood on. Or maybe you just do not care to.

Carroll's reply: Snip. Snip. Snip.
You fear yourself.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.
They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

You focus on your own group and how you are a > > victim, no matter how much better off OVERALL you have i... But Desk Rabbit feels the need to attack the herd. Who does NOT know that this kind of gobbledygook is Desk Rabbit's MO, not the modus operandi of William Unruh? It is all just nonsense... the trolling, the sock puppets, the writing of drivel, the tantrums... the false bravado and tendency to show how ashamed he is over being banned from the sandbox for pissing in it again... all of it ;) Enlightenment is probably my second favorite DE and the only one I advocate to computer converts. Primary interface is LXDE, though. A large number of core applications is all you need after grasping the basics. I am working on a script which will blow what Linux has away. He is clearly trolling, he got busted and he's doing the expected face saving BS covered in Trolling 101 as he attempts to hang on to his pride... but it won't work. It is clear from the manner Desk Rabbit responded - by asking for fundamentals of the OS and more - he has never worked on an algorithmically challenging problem. Otherwise he would've understood the requirements like actually commenting your code! I bet we have different beliefs entirely. Having to endure the use of C+ is not what most want to do. -- Top 15 Ways Desk Rabbit Trolls https://youtu.be/iztSc_msHuo https://www.facebook.com/JonasEklundh Jonas Eklundh
