That OK with the troll, because everything is upside-down, in their
world.

Take the Ezekreep, who quotes me saying 100% correct, and proven
correct, statements in his sig, as if this should somehow embarrass
me.

That tells you a lot, when that's the best that he can do, to attack
me.

There will always be another Wollmann. In fact, there has been a murphy:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/comp.lang.lisp/s40UEbEFHTo/
ViTFKucaxoQJ

Netkkkopping: check. Rant when nobody would take him seriously: check.
Kooky: Ohhh yes indeed, my friend, spamming out a dozen copies of the
above, each crossposted to three or four groups, and full of goofy
spelling and grammar errors as well as all manner of crazy.

That's the same kook now posting in afn as TOSEM, by the way. He's been
reduced from the goofy but relatively legible blather in the 2011 post
archived above to the drooling, frothing lunatic that is writing TOSEM's
barely-legible dribbles in 2016. Five short years and he's become one of
the meltiest kooks in the history of melty kooks. All because NSP admins
refuse to the last one to TOS a net.dead ghost that already doesn't post
through any of their servers.

<snicker>

With the state of usenet these days, it's likely cuckoo anyway. What will
decide your fate vis-a-vis kook awards is how you take it if you try and
fail: will you accept it and move on, and be judged sane, or get
increasingly melty like Wollmann and Murphy and win that KotM? (Murphy
eventually won several, and his subsequent meltdowns in AUK were so
spectacular he won Kook of the Year 2012 as well.)

That's always a good sign of a candidate for Coward of the Month. Think
you can get him to xpost into AUK?

The linux man pages on my machine are whatever width my window is.
Didn't do anything to get it that way, it just works out of the box. So
I have no idea what you are trying to imply with the above remark.

I'll explain.

In the far reaches of the USENET of yore, people would want to discuss
this and that in a newsgroup with a specific topic. In order for the
post to remain "on topic", they would include and "obligatory" bit of
text that might be of interest to the newsgroup.

That part of the post would be labeled "ObX", where "X" is the topic.
"Ob" is short for "obligatory".

So I have, from time to time, posted an "ObLinux", usually (but not
always) with the man page of something people may not have known resides
on their systems. I've also done it for useful software that people may
not realize is available for Linux. This keeps the post on-topic -- and
furthermore, annoys the hell out of creepy trolls.

When I post the man page sections, I format them with a 65-character
width, which has been a good value for posting fully-justified text to
Usenet.

ObLinux:

ZGZ(1) zgz ZGZ(1)

NAME
       zgz - Frankenstein's compressor

SYNOPSIS
       zgz [options] < file > file.gz

DESCRIPTION
This program is an unholy combination of the BSD gzip
program, a modified GNU gzip that supports setting an
arbitrary file name and timestamp, and an old, rotting
version of bzip2 that we dug up somewhere at midnight.
Only the bits to do with file compression were kept.

There are many arcane options which aid pristine-gz(1)
in re-animating files. Use --help to see all the gory
       details.
