They work very well, even current hardware. Linux isn't totally
given the cold shoulder. It's not quite like the picture that trolls
try to paint. Linux does get some very useful vendor support. It tends
to be useful where it really matters too.
I probably have hardware that's more "bleeding edge" than yours
and it works quite effectively with Linux.
Others have already cited how companies like AMD and Intel will do
their initial development on Linux.

What am I supposed to be missing and what kind of hardware do I
need to buy in order to expose that? Chances are that I'm using more
interesting hardware and doing more interesting things with it.

It will be good enough for some (Typically the home user) but push it into a corporate environment and it soon unravels.

Printing works fine with wifi or wired under Linux, Epson even has drivers. I think it supports all the printing functions the printer does. I didn't look at all scenarios, but the ones I would expect were there. Scanning is a little different. Epson has Linux drivers for it, but they don't seem to work with a wifi connection, only USB. No documentation mentions it though, and you have to dig a little to find the printer and/or scanner drivers. Possibly a USB connected one, during an install might pick it up, but I don't use it that way so I don't actually know. Fortunately scanning to the cloud IS supported without putting a single driver on the computer. It is all done at the control panel on the AIO. This scenario is not at all uncommon in the Linux world. -- Lloyd
