We should all be immensely thankful for the existence of GNU/Linux, the greatest OS in the history of mankind. GNU/Linux liberates the user from the outrageous proscriptions of commercial software and it returns the art of computing to the freedom and purity of former times. Yep. Without GNU/Linux, Stallman, the Linux community and so forth we wouldn't have had such a hearty laugh around the dinner table. I DO thank Wretched Stallman to a certain extent because his ideas at least get corporations to _consider_ making their code transparent and free to users after a certain period of time. Had it not been for GNU, I imagine that closed software would remain in that state even years after the software stopped being sold or used. However, GNU itself is mostly awful software in everything that isn't entirely text-based.
