SubjectLibreOffice Getting Too Bloated

Gentoo, the ONLY distro for REAL men, compiles ALL
of my GNU/Linux software except for a few packages.

One of those packages is LibreOffice.

Gentoo wants to pull in icedtea instead of Oracle java
and that is something, for certain reasons, which I cannot
allow. Thus, I am essentially forced to use the binary
version of LibreOffice from their official repository.

My minimalist system used to be able to accommodate the
binary OpenOffice, but it does not suffice for the newer
LibreOffice. Here is a list of "extra" libraries which
I have to manually include in the LO binary tree:

avahi-libs-0.6.31
cups-libs-2.0.2
dbus-glib-0.104
keyutils-libs-1.5.9
krb5-libs-1.13
libselinux-2.3
openssl-libs-1.0.2e

For what do they need this infernal shit? I don't need
a fucking print spooler. I don't need fucking network
awareness. So give me a fucking break, assholes.

Well, today I downloaded the latest LO binary release and
now I need even MORE extra libraries:

gnutls-3.3.22-1
libtspi11-0.3.13
nettle-2.7.1
p11-kit-0.23.2

Holy fucking shit! What the fuck is going on here?
The package libtspi1 is to implement trusted computing!

The LO folks seem to be following the unstoppable trend
of wanting to do everything simply because they CAN.
But doing something just because one CAN do it is not
a valid reason.

I am afraid that before too long I shall have compile LO
from source MYSELF and remove all that useless cruft.

That would be best. LO runs much faster if compiled from
source.

You sure spend a lot of time tinkering with Linux.
When do you actually have the time to do some productive work with
Linux?

The naive Feeb thought it was the height of "advanced db usage" to show
parent/child data in a LibreOffice main form/subform.

Then he squealed with delight at being able to use LO Writer to print
mailing labels from a .csv file.

The fucker is odd.

I meant to tell you earlier that Scribus has a python API that you
might be interested in playing with.

Here's some dabbling (with a bit of csv context):

https://vid.me/lYMe

This is a 1.4 stable release, but I believe the latest version has
more scripting power (can pass arguments and such).

Hey!

What the fuck for are you fraternizing with this degenerate imbecile?

Hey! I said what the fuck for?

Do you have mental problems, or are you just a fucking queer?

Huh?

Python? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

You should put a Diamondback rattler in his mailbox. When he reaches
inside to grab his comic books he'll get a dose of venom that would
fell a regiment.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

The paramedics wouldn't go near that foul creep. Those people
have taste and discrimination.

Good self-nuke, Feeb.

You do know it's OK to end a sentence with a preposition, right?

Thanks. What's also nice are the python Excel modules, and pyodbc.

ps I meant to tell you earlier that the Clintons are still killing
people - or having people killed - left and right.

http://endingthefed.com/man-who-researched-clinton-found-dead-but-his-last-words-are-the-scary-part-video.html

Look at the mouth-breathers in the comments go:

* "Killery has her own 'Hit Squad'"

* "Body count will keep climing Clintons will make sure of that."

* "you young people don't know how many times people died who pissed
off the clintons I think 60+"

Scary.

The two are completely different.

Others might. There are lots of add ons. Like with firefox.
They exist because its needed.
For example, calc that uses GPU to do its maths
in fractions of a second compared to weeks
for microshit.

You can disconnect what you don't need.
But no point in screaming other's don't need it.
You don't speak for everyone.

Hah! I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm not going to start a custom build only to discover
three hours into the compile that it doesn't work.

I had that problem with that other bloated piece of
shit known as firefox.

Those assholes will often say that something is optional
when it is really not optional.

Those LO folks should implement the standard Unix source
based on autoconf so that every build is as easy as
configure, make, make install.

Then script it and run the script every time
