In the screenshot below, FireFox's AddressBar/SearchBar text
(UpperLeft) stands out, larger than elsewhere;
GoogleChrome users can't do this, I think.
Jeff-Relf.Me/SearchPlugins.PNG
The DropDown, UpperLeft, lists the "SearchProviders" I use;
GoogleChrome users can't do this, I think.
From "Jeff-Relf.Me/userChrome.CSS.TXT":
* { Font-Family: Times New Roman ;
BackGround: Black !important; Color: RGB( 255, 144, 198 )!important; }
textbox * { Font-Size: 34px ; }
.textbox-input { margin-left: 2ch !important; }
[ id $= container ] { margin-top: -1px ; margin-bottom: -1px ; }
#urlbar .textbox-input { Width: 300ch ; }
#search-container { Max-Width: 99ch ; } #searchbar { Height: 39px ; }
// "Display: Flex" --> "Display: Block" {}
#urlbar { Display: Block ; }
#urlbar-go-button, #reload-button, #stop-button { Display: None ; }

It's just DOM elements, you can do whatever you want with JS/CSS. To make JS easier, if you're not against running a plugin: <https://tampermonkey.net> A funky demo of it on YT: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_CVBkg4HPk> Just think, with something like this you can even aggregate data into a 3rd party page you've loaded for a seriously custom view. Baseball stats with your porn? No problem ;)

Can you enlarge the URL bar, or the search bar ? GoogleChrome goes to great lengths to keep you from selecting alternate search options, like I do.

No need for a plugin... it is pretty trivial to change select search engines on than Google from Chrome. They have a list and you can add your own quite easily: Settings > Manage Search Engines -- Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. I misread what he wrote, when I saw "options", for some reason, I put a different meaning to it (he undoubtedly meant "engines"). In any event, despite never having used it, the TM plugin is obviously very powerful so anything Relf believes Chrome isn't capable of (with respect to these kinds of things), he may want to take another look. The downside is you need knowledge of JS if you really want custom stuff.

Fair enough... but not what you asked for initially. Looked briefly and did not see an extension for Chrome that offers the same functionality. I *do* use similar functionality on Safari, though it is limited to just four search engines by pulldown, if you type the name of a site it will offer to search there (for example, type "Youtube tacos" and you get the option to search YouTube). I certainly can understand your preference for being able to just click on a search engine instead of typing it in. I do have the ability to right click and do a search on a selected work or phrase from most (though not all) programs. ... -- Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. Those are XML/XUL pages, not HTML, and I can modify them, to an extent;
-- in fact, I did so a few hours ago ( About:AddOns ) --
but they have nothing to do with the AddressBar and SearchBar.

Well, my browsers show them as HTML... but the point wasn't to modify *them* ;)

They may not do what you have in mind but they do have *something*
to do with them.

The address bar is also the search bar.
OK, the stuff you show below here is more along the lines of what I envisioned...
so Snit wasn't right after all... and I'm sure he'll be apologizing any minute now,
especially after having told someone in another thread that I made a "mistake" ;)
This is more along the lines of what I was thinking and it's what you're using:

Studying System76... even now a n00b.
I believe we have different views completely. Usenet is an uncontrollable institution based on mutual trust with strangers. Turns out Staci 'The Flooder' Elliot's constant mentioning of Rhonda January Bass met his own definition of trolling, so he abandoned that, too. Rhonda January Bass pwns Staci 'The Flooder' Elliot in every way possible.
Like the other trolls in COLA, Staci 'The Flooder' Elliot relies on biased media to concoct his positions on subjects. Hence, he only is aware of and accepts the official news which also happens to be the ones which represent communists in a dishonestly auspicious and educated view. You guys can only think from the viewpoint of a sociopath. Rhonda January Bass's earliest statement stands accurate and correct.

They have (lame) "settings", but none is the AddressBar.
See: "#urlbar" in "Jeff-Relf.Me/userChrome.CSS.TXT"
...\browser\content\browser\Browser.CSS
GoogleChrome remembers the zoom settings of each WebSite;
ideally, users could Zoom the AddressBar, like a WebSite.

So, UnLike FireFox users, GoogleChrome users can't
UnDo/ReDo/Edit SearchBar text without losing sight of the current URL,
and/or selecting it from the URL history.

It's 30 Megs, 1920x1080 ( 25% of my screen ), 30 fps, AVC x264;
recorded using IceCream ScreenRecorder ( 33$, after tax ),
then << ffmpeg -i SearchBar.mp4 SearchBar.MKV >>:
Jeff-Relf.Me/SearchBar.MKV

Pretty cool, especially with that 1970s vibe ;)
Why'd you keep saying I can't see? It looked like it was mostly visible.
Are you still smoking? You need to stop that before you keel over; sounds
like you're already working on throat cancer.

God asked to be rated according to provable trolling measurements, which Satan accommodated.
That is the problem 'today' and American teachers don't care at all; people from smarter generations (~60 yo) are the only ones who know better than to fall for communism. No one here has ever read my program, much less found a bug; still, in my subconscious, I'm thinking, "I have dark thoughts in the middle of the night". You're clueless! Nobody who isn't just using you for erotic goals sees you as anything remotely close to decent. You have no one but me to thank for that.

You could only see the UpperLeft, 25%, of my 4k screen.
"SearchBar.MKV" is now ( 4k, 14 minutes, 125 Megs ):

No, I was just fading in an out of consciousness, 5am;
like a villan on TV, using his last breath to tell all;
Droop, Drool... Big Suck, Alert... Repeat.
Also, I was pausing a lot, to think of what to show next.

They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger. They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again. <https://youtu.be/H4NW-Cqh308>

I quickly switch "where/how/what" I search, OnTheFly; my SearchBox, has large, editable text ( UnDo/ReDo ). Can you "UnDo/ReDo/Edit" SearchBar text without losing sight of the current URL, and/or selecting it from the URL history ? Can you Zoom the AddressBar ? > Thanks for sharing... gives a MUCH better idea of > what you do with your desktop than still images. Yeah, I love YouTube; if only I felt the same about painting, fixing windows, installing shades, vacuuming, cleaning, etc.
