I disagree. He responds on Twitter because he knows very well that the media will skew whatever he does and says to their advantage. At least there, he can get a direct message to his followers and enemies without their interpretation and bias. I believe that we're in an atmosphere where chivalry, decency and diplomacy can no longer work. People voted him in because they were tired of being lied to and regardless of what the Prescott Parasite says, his statements are not lies; they are only interpreted as such by a media system which believes that anything which makes them look bad is inconvenient and must be suppressed. Let's not forget that this is the same media which claimed that Trump's economic success was caused by Obama, something which has been proven to be false and also claimed that Jim Acosta's video showing him karate chopping an intern was doctored even though it clearly wasn't. -- SilverSlimer Minds: @silverslimer

No, I'm not saying he shouldn't respond to everything, just that he should allow the majority of the petty stuff to roll of his back. Otherwise he looks petty also. I think you can combine honest, straight-forward statements with decency and diplomacy. But, more importantly, if you're the president, you need to talk less and do more. (Kind of like the "speak softly and carry a big stick" approach.) Telling people (over and over) what you're "going to do" is not nearly as effective as ACTUALLY doing it. But I know why politicians in the U.S. do it, they want to gauge the public reaction before going forward. It's kind of the "chickenshit way" of governing. As for most in the mainstream media, yeah, it's open war. They're worthless assholes. But don't make their job easier by responding to EVERY petty, little bullshit insult. Acosta is a petty little ass. I would be happy to never have to hear his name again. I wish there was a killfile for the Internet, like there is one for newsgroups. -- The more I see of Windows, the more I like Linux.

I'm getting a lot of killed files. I'm guessing the small-minded whackadoodle is proving the advocates right again. Drives the trolls crazy when they do not get attention. No no. He never agreed to stop flooding. He lied about his trolling of course. Ha! Right, Sockboy is trying to retail a DOM variable, which Steven Petruzzellis can get in seconds, that is looped over as it removes nodes. If he could stop being so clueless he would figure out how dumb he looks ;) His superb "troubleshooting talents" made it so he could not find a peripheral he needs that everyone else is already using with Debian. It takes a couple seconds to select text and 'orient' it. Despite my own knowledge of Debian, I nonetheless continue to use it for newbies who've had misadventures with macOS. Only what John Gohde wants matters to John Gohde. There is nothing Klaus Schadenfreude can do to change that. It's a personality defect and it is what it is. BTW, I've already pointed out that his use of "cult-like" to describe honest people is mud slinging, since he's likening them to farmed livestock. Generally, Klaus Schadenfreude wouldn't call a claim like John Gohde's comments a fantasy until you invalidate it (as you are here) and John Gohde responds with the a shifting of goal posts with one of his socks. And given how frequently it is clear that John Gohde's signature is some exaggeration of an observation Klaus Schadenfreude posted which had been a drubbing on John Gohde for something he did which was daffy/false/etc... its clearly a repeated gesture of John Gohde's lingering butthurt for having been so repeatedly crushed. On topic discussions will be overwhelmed once those of us here before the eternal September are outnumbered. That, and there will always be a mental midget or more in an open news group (hint: John Gohde). All this talk in the media of a 'doctored' video... in every version I've watched what can clearly be seen is Acosta *purposefully* trying to prevent the intern from doing her job. He clearly stiff-armed the girl, and, no... that term isn't limited to football (someone actually argued that point). Depending upon the angle, Acosta can be seen moving his right (mic bearing) arm away from the intern (towards his chest, so as to better retain possession of the mic) as he simultaneously moved his stiffening left arm downward so as to push the intern's arm in a manner that successfully prevented her from doing her job. No one who saw this video can reasonably dispute what is clearly visible. Acosta even leaned his body to the right and rotated away, to increase the distance the intern had to travel to the mic in the angle shown here: <https://streamable.com/0ya16> This 'doctored video' BS is a red herring pushed by people who seem to believe viewers will swallow whatever they're told, even when they are directly looking at video evidence to the contrary. Obama got a pass from the press... there possibly is merit to the suggestion that they did treat him differently than other Democrats and Republicans, that they liked having the first African-American President and that contributed, in part, to their relatively softball treatment of him. (cue up charges of racism for me having written the last part about Obama, I admit it does sorta sound so but it very well may be true)

This is what the media SHOULD do. As he did so an intern got into HIS space and he defended himself very gently... even excusing himself! But the bigger issue here, which you ignore, is that the White House used video doctored by InfoWars to avoid being asked questions. That is completely indefensible. > Obama got a > pass from the press... Never did this type of nonsense. You are whining that Obama who did not act like Trump was not treated like Trump. That is insane. How could the media predict how absurdly bad the NEXT president would be and then treat the then-current president based on that? I'm sure that the Prescott Parasite is busy posting replies to me stating that it was definitely modified... because he's stupid and we expect that kind of behaviour from him. -- SilverSlimer Minds: @silverslimer

They are. The video was doctored by InfoWars. There is no doubt about it. -- Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger. They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again. <https://youtu.be/H4NW-Cqh308>

We do and, unfortunately, all we can ever expect is blatant hypocrisy, blatant lies, blatant politicizing, assorted BS, etc. Do you agree with Bill Clinton's suggestion that Obama was treated differently than other Repubs and Dems... and this was done so, in part, because he was the first African-American President? It is kind of strange that Clinton made what many might consider to be racist statements... but maybe he has a point.

Lines of text containing words from Klaus Schadenfreude twisted horridly by Script Troller. With no proof at all, as is usual for Script Troller. You can say I am Charlie Brown for all I care. Don't look now, but I think Script Troller has a serious fascination with Klaus Schadenfreude. How is barely used a universal consciousness tied to flatlining brain waves in any way going to lead to intelligent usenet conversation? Too much glue for you, gluey. -- My Snoring Solution https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.os.linux.advocacy/smzXrBhsWf4 Jonas Eklundh Communication AB
