Then openSUSE should change their xterm manpage and note the lack of Tektronix
emulation for their version of xterm.

I checked and Yes... it is there. Also, it could be that xterm itself was
modified as I suggested, and they forgot to update the manpage for xterm.

There are some old code out there that uses Tektronix terminals, and I believe
that a University in N.C. that wrote structural testing software that utilizes
the Tektronix terminal. I've seen their program in action and its pretty
impressive.

The latest build of xterm is 327.
http://invisible-island.net/xterm/xterm.log.html

With respect to xterm Tektronix mode:

Debian Sid -- xterm version 327 -- works.
Debian Jessie -- xterm 312 -- works.

OpenSUSE 42.1 Leap -- xterm 308 -- fails.
OpenSUSE 13.2 -- xterm 312 -- fails.

Neither OpenSUSE version's xterm manpage documents anything being disabled
with respect to Tektronix mode. Both have Tektronix entries in termcap/
terminfo.

Unless there's a compelling need to break old functionality, I don't
see a good reason for just putting it out to pasture. And if there
is a need, and the break is intentional, it should be documented.
Most likely though, so few people use Tektronix mode that nobody
has noticed that it is broken.

That is true. I checked to see if Tektronix still makes terminals. Nope.
They have a few nice scopes tho.

The Slimeball troll's tying himself in knots! LOL

And BTW, has he ever said *what* his hardware is exactly?

Naturally not. That'would have risked that someone else with just that
hardware would have said that Slimeshit is just a snittish liar

No, I didn't think he would. So his "won't work on my hardware" is just
vague hand waving to fit his trolling agenda.

>That'would have risked that someone else with just that

Indeed. I expect he's now googling for people who've had various
problems with certain hardware, so he can cobble it together to say why
he can't install a Linux distro.

He did say what printer he was having an issue with and had I been able
to find one for a hundred dollars I would have bought it and got it
working on Linux just to prove him wrong.

Tim used to claim he knew a guy who worked in a use computer store and
that he was setting up used computers for people. And so he would troll
about another machine every few days. Basically looking on Google for
reported problems then re-wrapping that into his troll. And he did this
for years.

If he's to be believed, his wife made him stop.

I'll say one thing. Almost every single troll I have met claims to be a
teacher. Seriously it's like 90%. What the fuck is up with that??

Peter Köhlmann claimed: "I have hardly talked about [Snit]" during October,
