The only way Windows 10 could be faster than Ubuntu is if the benchmark in question is skewed for Windows. And, as they say, "figures don't lie, but liars figure." -- The more I see of Windows, the more I like Linux.

These posts are clearly *not* automated, they are made by an overmedicated pervert with a sick agenda who has way too much time on his hands (and possibly has other morons helping him). Snit's posts are nothing but a valueless rambling. After yesterday's update I no longer can get work done on Linux. Like anyone can! Just look at your programs and look at mine, there is nothing for Sandman to learn from a fool like Snit. But hey, let him keep making a moron of himself. I am sure one of his stooges will come to the rescue. From the way Snit responded - by getting wrong fundamentals of the operating system and the like - he has certainly not understood a computationally complex issue before. Otherwise he would have understood the requirements of declaring variables! -- Eight things to never feed your cat http://www.5z8.info/gruesome-gunshot-wounds_t5z0au_cockdock.gif http://www.5z8.info/mercenary_w5v9dl_open.exe https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.sys.mac.advocacy/RSikBcWxBLo Jonas Eklundh Communication AB

And as predicted here it comes. Get ready for the slimer returning to Windows posts. So who had the pool predicting this? I claim winner status. Slimer, why not admit it? You know Linux sucks. Your privacy issues with Windows mean zero because you are using the same search engines, the same email addresses, the same ISP, etc under Windows that you use under Linux so your privacy is exposed either way. Why not be honest and admit Linux does nothing, in your particular case, better than Windows? You know it's true. Everyone who has used Linux and a modern version of Windows knows the same thing.

Skipped XP. Bought and tried Win10 and didn't like it. Plus it initially forced updates on you. I'll probably move to it at some point - as long as you can indefinitely defer updates (and not defer them 3 days at a time between nag screens).

They, more or less, fixed it in 8.1 (which really should have been called 9.0). -- The more I see of Windows, the more I like Linux.

I mostly ignored the "modern" stuff so the end result is that 8 and 8.1, for me, were just prettier versions of Windows 7. And where does this fit in the overall scheme of things? Come one, you're not fooling anyone. Windows isn't perfect, we all know that, but to claim, as a non-programmer, cli junkie, that Linux is superior is just kidding yourself. You know it. Linux users know it. Everyone knows it. Come clean already. The jig is up.

The jig is up. What I know for a fact is that I don't need to worry about malware and updates taking over my computer while using GNU/Linux. Not only that, but installing and trying out applications is a lot easier when you don't have to venture onto some obscure website and install it manually. Repositories are the greatest thing and it's a shame Microsoft hasn't yet seen the benefit of having one for all applications, not just the shite they put in the Windows Store. -- SilverSlimer FSF Contributor / EFF Member / Free speech advocate Absolute centrist, proud Catholic
