Says the guy who lies and claims that openSUSE can play MP3s out of the
box (despite what openSUSE's developers say), believes that Windows 9x
didn't run on DOS and that HTML5 is pointless.

*You* are the heated dirt you speak of.

Things must be very different in Germany and/or Europe. Here in the states
most people have no clue that Libre Office even exists.

If someone works in IT, development or most technical fields then there's a
good chance they do know. But that's certainly not anywhere near most
people.

It's a shame because it's not really that bad. It's not as good as
Microsoft Office by any stretch of the imagination but it would
definitely be more than enough for something like schools and small
businesses to use.

I guess if someone is too dumb to google "free office suite" then
that's there problem. Of course, there is still the "compatability"
FUD.

But to blindly hand-over one's money to M$, without even the tiniest
bit of research (which would inevitably lead one to OO/LO?) That's
just fscking dumb.

Minor grammatical mistakes don't need correction (by the poster or
anyone else).

This is usenet, not grade 9 English.

People who point out typos and grammar on usenet need to get out of

Grammatical mistakes made by self-proclaimed (about a dozen times)
"intellectually superior" shitheads like shitv do need correction.

Once you find out LO is "supported" by a community of hobbyist amateurs,
no further research is necessary.

chrisv can't even seem to move off Windows. I've asked Gohde to assist
chrisv so he can finally get Linux installed on his PC.

Or you get called a troll for asking. Or you get told you are running the
wrong version of Linux or Windows etc.

The Linux community is one of Linux's biggest problems.

Not at all. I was being quite gracious to the poster who posted that
he had made a mistake. He was being overly self-critical. No need for
such.

Then you come in after he posted his correction and post about the
grammar mistake that he made? And you accuse me of being a net-nanny?
Really?

As to your slinging gratuitous insults at people for no reason ... I'd
put that as a severe case of underconfidence in yourself. I'm sure you
can find help for that locally.

Except that not pointing it out prompts the person in question to
continue making mistakes and eventually risk becoming entirely
incomprehensible.

Not at all. The odd typo or grammar mistake is to be expected.

Given the avalanche of silly and stupid things said with perfect
spelling, grammar and punctuation, the odd typo or so is really nothing.

You don't even understand why it is that you are so easy to spot as a phony.

It was nice playing pretend with you for awhile but you no longer amuse me.
