At times like this, one can only quote Linus.

Oi, moron: "almost certainly" is a probability claim, not an allegation.

And I have previously posted my reasons for holding this particular
probability assessment. The fact that ONE person can spend more than a
waking day posting to this forum, about dozens of linux variants that
they claim to have tried personally, finding obscure bugs that no one
using the OS in a practical, non-forensic way would ever notice,
strongly indicates a huge operation behind each of these trolls. That is
why I believe it is almost certain they are paid for by an outfit with
deep pockets - and one that has a vested interest in keeping the OS
market a near-monopoly. Now who could that be, I wonder?

Anyway, I wasn't talking TO you, I was talking ABOUT you to the decent
people who might be looking in. So crawl back in your hole, you won't
prod me into any more replies to your dishonesty.

Incorrect: it is an allegation, which you rationalized making based on what
you *believe* as "probable". Plus you then made a second leap of bias
to try to attribute it to your favorite 'nefarious evil corporation', again with
zero credible evidence...just the "hunch" of YA Internet troll kook.

> And I have previously posted my reasons for holding this particular
> probability assessment.

Definitive claim: Cite, please.

It hardly takes a "huge operation" to pay for a Man-Day, or even more.
And that's even before considering readily available alternatives which
as per Occham's Razor are equally (or more) likely, such as media
reports on ghost writers for online product reviews (IIRC, only ~$5 per
review), as well as a motivation of simple boredom/entertainment.

> That is why I believe it is almost certain they are paid for by an outfit
> with deep pockets - and one that has a vested interest in keeping the
> OS market a near-monopoly. Now who could that be, I wonder?

Also flawed logic, as it could just as easily be a homeless person who
spends their days on a PC in a free public library. Or someone with a
medical disability who finds this outlet as their social interaction.
And given the "audience" of COLA, a corporation would obviously look
at the the cost:benefit of the venue, and when planted Amazon reviews
are worth only $5 on the fraud/troll market, random COLA quips are a
few pennies at most...beneath their significance threshold to bother with.

> Anyway, I wasn't talking TO you, ...

Also incorrect: it was a public post, which by definition is addressed to all.

> I was talking ABOUT you to the decent people who might be looking in.

Ohm the irony.

> So crawl back in your hole, you won't prod me into any more replies to your dishonesty.

I doubt it. You see, the trolls don't post about their own
experiences. They just google for problems, and then pretend that
they are having the problem.
