I don't see it in the article but Motorola had 3 plants in the Phoenix AZ
area in the 1960s. I worked for the one in Scottsdale AZ as a test
technician for 6 years. It was called the Military Electronics Division. We
built military and space stuff. Some of it is still on the moon...

Cool. Very cool.

Did you know that Neil Armstrong went to the moon and back without
getting hurt, and then ripped the tip of his finger off when his wedding
ring caught on a wheel of his farm truck?

He found the missing finger part, packed it in ice, and microsurgeons
sewed it back on, I read.

Microsurgeons are very, very small surgeons.

I suspect they felt small because Neil gave them the finger...

Now that reminds me of "Sloane gave me the finger", said by Marshall
Flinkman in Alias S01E13. (Sloane had literally given him his finger in
order to disarm a self-destruct device, IIRC.)

I've always been disappointed that the story about Neil Armstrong saying
on the moon: "Good luck, Mr Gorsky" turned out to be an urban myth
invented by a comedian ... still good for a laugh, though ...
