Another question about my new Android 15 tablet. The on-screen keyboard doesn't pop up automatically when you click on a text entry field. What you get is an oval stripe with several icons on it, one of which opens the keyboard. I think this is the gboard app running. Is there a way to make gboard go straight to the on-screen keyboard or do I need a different keyboard app? -- Chris Green ·

Mine does normally open the keyboard (phone and tablet), there are a couple of apps which are *sometimes* reluctant ... screenshot?

I've got around the problem by installing Simple Keyboard and using that instead of Gboard, now it works exactly as one would expect. -- Chris Green ·
