Another question about my new Android 15 tablet.

The on-screen keyboard doesn't pop up automatically when you click on
a text entry field.  What you get is an oval stripe with several icons
on it, one of which opens the keyboard.  I think this is the gboard
app running.  Is there a way to make gboard go straight to the
on-screen keyboard or do I need a different keyboard app?
