Three died of various medical emergencies which might, or might not have occurred at any other time, but are likely to have been provoked by the events of the day. The possibility exists that had they not been part of the mob they would be alive today.

One of the medical incidents was when an ambulance & EMTs were called for the woman found on the floor of the Rotunda. She was one of the mob and she had been crushed, and trampled by her fellow violent invaders.

So far she is one of two who died due to the direct actions of the “violent invaders”.

He was hit in the head with the fire extinguisher. The injury due to that blow subsequently caused his death. Without one or more of the “violent invaders” directly hitting him in the head with the fire extinguisher he would be alive today. He is the second to die due to the direct actions of the mob.

Yes, bit they were the invaders and so if the
event killed them, that’s because they chose
to be part of the group that violently invaded.

> The possibility exists that had they not been
> part of the mob they would be alive today.

Yes, but like I said, they chose to take part in
a violent invasion so if that killed them, it was
their choice to get involved in a violent invasion.

> One of the medical incidents was when an ambulance
> & EMTs were called for the woman found on the floor

Yes, that is a risk with any violent invasion.

If you don’t like that risk, don’t get involved in violent invasions.

> So far she is one of two who died due to

Yes but it was her choice to be involved in a violent invasion.

Yes.

That is less clear. He was quite capable of returning to
his divisional office and had the medical incident there.
He clearly didn’t seek medical assistance at the capitol
and so the head injury cant have been severe, let alone
saw his head bashed in.

> Without one or more of the “violent invaders”

That isnt certain. Even an autopsy cant necessarily prove
that, it depends on how severe the head injury was. It cant
have been too severe if he could return to his divisional
office and didn’t seek medical assistance before he did.

Yes, but you have no basis for your claim.

It remains to be seen what the autopsy finds.

"bashed in" in was HYPERBOLE.

He was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.

There are lots of injuries humans can sustain which are fatal, but which
don't manifest themselves until later.

A sub-dural hematoma is one such injury.

It's funny-sad to see people insisting that those that died or were
killed as a result of the riot really didn't die directly as a result.

The bottom line is that all of those people would almost certainly be
alive today had the insurrection not occurred. Hopefully those that were
caught and arrested will receive appropriate jail and prison terms. I
think that Trump's suggestion of ten year prison terms may be excessive
for those that were just trespassing and not destroying things, but one
to three years would be appropriate.

insurrection carries a penalty of up to 10 years, which is nowhere near
enough.

the penalty for treason, which this was not, is death and more
appropriate.

That’s bullshit with the Vietnam war alone and

In none of those cases did the person that was elected defeat an
incumbent, or an opponent, that the extremists were especially fond of.

They were never enamored with George H.W. Bush, McCain, or Romney so
when a Democrat, even a black Democrat, defeated the Republican
candidate there was not the level of despondency that you see now.
