Now that illiterate, uneducated people can be easily exposed to sophisticated marketing online, we need to find a way to criminalize attempts to rabble rouse for the purpose of political or financial gain. And how do we define that? The excitement to action of notably large numbers of people, on false pretenses. In the past it wasn't so much of a threat. The general public, especially in rural areas, didn't know much about what went on in Washington. And they still don't. But actors on social media are telling them stories. Ironically, I think the primary obstacle to outlawing rabble rousing is our dearly held fantasy that we can think for ourselves. Can people in a democracy, who idealize equality, admit that most of the population are rabble? Even most of the white collar population are effectively a peasantry.

Parler is free to host their site with a service that has no restrictions on content, or they can self-host. And that's what they said that they will do. Their real problem will be that they'll have to do a web-based service since new users would not be able to get the app from the Apple App store or the Google Play store. Not having an app will greatly reduce the adoption rate. You're probably not going to get someone that wants the Parler app to jailbreak or sideload to get it.

I see this as a real problem. There is no practical way to
SIGNIFICANTLY change our government now. Republicans in Kalifornia are
helpless. What DO we do?

They just refuse to see inevitable changes. And we've never had much shared culture. When you travel around the country, what's the common ground? Network TV. Now even that's largely gone. But I think it's been made much worse by the extremes. Left-wing SJW nuts want to regulate behavior while people like the man who went to the pizza place to save children from Hillary's cannibals are living in a reactive, paranoid fantasy. It's tempting for them to just look for a evil scapegoat rather than deal with uncomfortable change. That man, from Tennessee, was actually sincerely trying to help. He really believed Hillary was running a child-slave, cannibalism cult. When the cops showed up he didn't question his assumtpions at all. He just decided that he'd got "bad intel" in that particular case.... as though maybe the cannibalism was at another pizza place. It's ironic, isn't it, that we now have the information superhighway, but misinformation is more common than ever?

We can arm ourselves against a malevolent government. The Second
Amendment says so. That might mean that yeah, we CAN legally commit an
armed insurrection and secede. I don't think those guys envisioned what
the US would be like in the 21st century.

I'm sorry to say that I was really disappointed in him. I voted for him
because he pissed off stupid people, but mostly because he wasn't a
Democrat. I expected lower taxes, a stronger border, a stronger
military, a pathway to legality for the foreigners who were already
here, and the elimination of a lot of stupid shit that Obama introduced.
Instead I got inane tweets. Still, he's not Hillary.
