Hi.. does anyone have any suggestions for good audio players on android that work along side by side without problems? At the moment I have Rocket Player and jetAudio Plus that work nicely side by side (for instance one playing an audiobook while the other plays music at reduced volume level in the background). But it would be nice if I had a few additional alternative mp3 players that will also keep playing when other audio players are active simultaneously. greetings and thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Are you using bluetooth speakers to play the audio? I don't play music much so I don't think I can answer your question directly but I chime in only to point out that you might be able to use a second "channel" if you're using a bluetooth speakerphone. I don't know much about bluetooth, but I have noticed that some of my mapping apps use a different bluetooth channel than my audio apps do. So, when one channel is using the bluetooth channel 1 audio, the map app can chime in on a second channel. If you're using bluetooth speakers, maybe you can opt for an app where you can select the bluetooth channel? That way, one app can be on one channel while the other app is on the second channel. This is just a suggestion. If it doesn't work, then I apologize in advance.

If it doesn't work, then I apologize in advance. I tend to just use the headphones plugged in at the standard audio jack (on an old HTC OXP smartphone). If I use speakers I also tend to plug them in directly with an audiocable.

There are apps that claim to be able to play two or more files at once, with independent controls. I haven't tried any so I don't know how well they work. Try searching the app store for 'multi audio player' or 'dual audio player'. -- -- ^^^^^^^^^^ -- Whiskers -- ~~~~~~~~~~

The problem I run into on the android phone is that I have to use the pre-amp of the equalizer to ensure one player plays at lower volume than the other, because the main volume level isn't independent for each of the players. On my previous windows mobile phone, I didn't have this problem and the main volume for each of the player apps would allow for independent control.

Like suppose I have a folder jazz which includes subfolders for various jazz musicians and each of those contains subfolders with various albums. Then I want to shuffle the entire jazz collection, so I pick the play option for the jazz folder, but nothing happens. Apparently it contains too many levels of subfolders. Also, the equalizer doesn't seem to have a pre-amp, which is rather essential to have the ability to control the volume level independently from other music playing apps.

I've noticed a general characteristic of Android apps is that they don't like it when users try to be 'too organised'; they want to do the organising themselves. This goes against all my instincts too. PC applications are beginning to show similar tendencies. -- -- ^^^^^^^^^^ -- Whiskers -- ~~~~~~~~~~
