Are you using bluetooth speakers to play the audio?

I don't play music much so I don't think I can answer your question
directly but I chime in only to point out that you might be able to use a 
second "channel" if you're using a bluetooth speakerphone.

I don't know much about bluetooth, but I have noticed that
some of my mapping apps use a different bluetooth channel
than my audio apps do. 

So, when one channel is using the bluetooth channel 1 audio, the map app
can chime in on a second channel. 

If you're using bluetooth speakers, maybe you can opt for an app where you
can select the bluetooth channel?

That way, one app can be on one channel while the other app is on the
second channel.

This is just a suggestion. If it doesn't work, then I apologize in advance.
