  You have to stop any current navigation process and then 'exit' from
OsmAnd+ by using your device's 'back' button.

  Of course, like any Android app, the 'dormant' app is still in memory,
but it should not use much - if any - CPU time.

  If you want to 'remove' the app from memory, you can do so in the list
of 'Recent apps' (tap-and-old the square button on 5.X).

  BTW, *how* do you determine that the app is still *running* - i.e.
using CPU time? (I have 5.X and AFAIK that doesn't have a CPU monitor
built-in.)
