Hi,

I'm on a trip, and before departing from Spain to Canada I chanced on
finding that Amazon sells prepaid American SIM cards (American Travel
SIM) on the T-Mobile network, valid for USA, Canada and Mexico.

Fantastic!

I'm happy with the service. Using my ISP roaming service would be
prohibitive, they charge several euros per day and megabit.

One little snag was that I found a dozen voice messages waiting for me
from the previous owner of that phone number. Very confusing.

Another is that the number is from Florida and calls/texts are non local
for the locals, and a charge applies for some of them at least,
depending on their mobile plan.


But the important one is that I can not text. I can receive SMSs on the
phone, but not send them. The phone is dual SIM, and if I remove SIM#1
(Telefonica) it works. Apparently (I can't verify) sending from a
different city worked once. But I can not remove SIM#1 for the trip,
needs to stay on.

Ideas?
