There's no way to "accidentally" install an iOS system update. YouTube ads have nothing to do with updating iOS itself, and everything to do with updating the YouTube app. More likely your "accident" involved "accidentally" updating the YouTube app by tapping a button to install the update, which I suspect wasn't actually an "accident" since you have been discussing YouTube ads for weeks here, and probably updated it in the process of testing things out. The word you probably meant to use is "mistakenly". : ) > The old iPad (which is of the same vintage but with an older OS) only gives > skippable ads once in a while. > > So, the moral here, as always, is *never* update unless you have a way of > getting back to the *older* software. > > In this case, since it's iOS, you're doomed if you update. Stop lying. You've been told that you can easily back up iOS apps and reinstall old versions through iTunes on several occasions. Many of us keep backups of every app version we get for this purpose. I'm running apps that aren't even available on the App Store today because of it. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. I often ignore posts from Google.
