Unlike Windows, Android will take care of closing idle apps when it needs more memory, so app exit is usually not an option within an app but there are utility, security, or battery saver apps that will let you stop all currently running apps (but some will restart themselves). According to one article, to get rid of the Developer Options entry in the Settings list has you: 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Tap on Application Manager to open it. 3. Swipe from right to left to scroll through the panes until you see the All Applications column. 4. Scroll down (way down) to tap on the Settings app in the list. 5. In its properties dialog, tap on the Clear Data button. 6. Supposedly the Developer Options will then disappear from the Settings app. Didn't work for me. The Clear Data button was greyed out in step 5 for me. The Developer Options are still there. The other remedy to remove Developer Options from the Settings app is to reset the cell phone. That means wiping all data and installed apps on the internal (main) memory. Data on the external SD card will remain untouched. Ain't gonna do dat. I'll just have to remember to be damn careful in there. There is stuff in there that is dangerous and, to me, unknown. I have not had the time or inclination yet to educate myself in the Android OS. Besides the handy "Process stats" option to show me the running processes, there is a "Stay Awake" option that says NOT to sleep the screen (hence avoid the lockscreen) while charging. I'm charging at home or using a power bank that I'm toting along on a long flight so my phone is always in my sight and physically controlled. So it might be handy not to have to unlock the screen while at home when the phone is sitting in a cradle getting charged. No kids or nosy adults to worry about there. Charging will likely take more time but the difference of half an hour over many hours will be unnoticeable since most of that time I'll be sleeping. Another option in there is "Show touches". A small translucent circle appears showing where it touched the screen. Looks handy in knowing just where you touched. Sometimes I'll touch, nothing happens, and then I'll touch again not realizing that the center point of my touch surface isn't where I thought it was. All the other stuff in there I am ignorant about. Maybe one day I'll play with being a superuser (be root user) but that'll be after the warranty expires. Probably a long time after that. Won't happen until I get another cell phone so I can afford to sacrifice one to experimentation.
