Hell of a lot of people now, particularly when you consider those who choose not to bother with physical books anymore. The only time I bother with physical books anymore is when they are not available in ebook format and are not available scanned by someone else, and what I get at garage/yard sales. And if I could find a reasonably priced device that could scan them into ebook format without actually destroying the physical book, I would do that regardless of what the law has to say about that, because I find ebooks much more convenient.
