IIRC that needs always on-line. You can't:
= fetch the headers & go off-line;
= mark which one's to d/l or delete when next going on line.

This forum is for adults to exchange technical info.
If you want to do personality stalking, there are reportedly facilities
elsewhere.

NO, he doesn't want to stalk you, he wants to avoid you. But since you
keep morphing, he keeps stepping in your messages.

I don't care what someone wants to call themselves on the internet, but I
really don't respect people who go around without a consistent "name".

   Michael

You seem to be confusing ("Yeah, *right*!"), the web-mailer 'Gmail'
with the MSP (Mail SP) 'Gmail' (or, even worse, the 'app' Gmail). If
you're using IMAP (or POP) you're using the MSP 'Gmail', not the
web-mailer 'Gmail'.

So whether you can do what you want depends on your MUA (Mail User
Agent [1] aka 'mailer'), not on the MSP 'Gmail'.

Any decent IMAP/POP3 mailer can do what you want. If you 'need'
recommendations, I suggest you ask (in 'this' group (CMM) or in a Linux
mail(er) group).

EMAK is bad. Your "personality stalking" 'argument' is utterly
misguided/misplaced, because it attempts to put blame on the reader
instead of on you, the poster. *Your* EMAK behaviour is especially bad,
because you keep bringing up the same 'problems' and are not interested
in solutions, you only want to hear that your 'problems' are indeed
problems, but they never are. Case in point: This very OP. So grow up or
shut up.

[1] Yes, that is largely simplified. Mind you we're talking to/at Chris
Glur! :-(

Huh, this was me, wasn't it? Of course ''Chris Glur'' screwed up the
quoting, as we should expect.

Adults don't morph their From: headers.

If you don't want people ''stalking'' you, stop morphing your From:
headers, so that our scorefiles can be applied to your posts.

EMAK? I did a quick web search but didn't find anything applicable
(granted I didn't search that hard).
