I tried

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/octet-stream

No effect.

I also tried

<files *.csv>
SetOutputFilter DEFLATE
</files>

Again no effect.

I will, but somehow I expect a negative reaction from them. The 
files.nyu.edu is aimed primarily as a document storage and sharing 
facility, not as a web-hosting one. Once I asked them how I could use a 
submit in a form to receive the input in a form of a webpage. I can't. 
They advised me to use a Google something that is available.
