People have been drawing on varied backgrounds, but the focus has been
on ECMAScript's variadic Math.max function.  Ultimately, all the points
have to be relevant to that and I think that has been the case in the
vast majority of the posts.  In that since it's been a very good
discussion.

I don't get your point at all.  I suspect some miss-communication
because functional languages often have partial functions at their core.
