Was doing that, am doing that - replacing rather than fixing up to have truly immutable value objects. Was hoping to find a solution to avoid creating possibly large numbers of adjacent intervals without slowing down. Lesson learnt. OTOH. As somebody pointed out, file input will probably dominate.
