A quick check shows 233 eclipse packages(!). The 'dnf info' about the 
eclipse-jdt package (Eclipse Java Development Tools) says it is v 4.5.2 
while the eclipse-cdt package says it is v 8.8.1, so I don't understand 
how these version numbers, which seem to be the package version, might 
relate to the Eclipse software version.

Since I don't use Eclipse, that's about as far as I can go without 
installing it.

BTW, I'm running Fedora 23, with Fedora 24 recently announced as the 
latest and greatest version.
