#93892 — The Love of Jesus Christ is our Only Hope

All of the war, all of the hate, all of the fighting, all of the death.
It's all the result of sin, and the evil spiritual influence that comes
to our flesh from our spiritual death, which is the result of sin.

We are three-fold beings: soul, body, spirit.

When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
they disobeyed God and sin entered in, and with sin death. Adam and
Eve immediately spiritually died, but in their body they continued on
here in this world. Being no longer alive spiritually, they were on
all points easily deceived by Satan, who influenced them spiritually.

The spiritual influence upon dead-to-spirit flesh continues to this
day. It's why there are so may who rise up and fight and kill and hate
and war. The sin living within them enables it.

When we come to faith in Jesus Christ, He takes our sin away. He
removes our sin from us, so that we are then without sin. Being without
sin, and without sin's punishment of death, we are then alive again
spiritually. This is the born again nature, and it is alive again in
the spirit.

The born again spirit is our eternal spirit, which is eternal life. We
no longer are dead spiritually, which enables us to discern the matters
of the spirit at work in this world, and to be able to also hear God,
and follow His guidance, for God also is spirit. God's Holy Spirit also
comes to dwell within us, to guide us from within into all truth. We
possess information from Him continually, which is why born again people
change.

We are not merely these bodies. We also have a soul and a spirit. The
soul is the essence of us, the "true Rick" which exists. We have a
presentation here in this world through our body, and it is our spirit
which connects the two together. When we pass from this world, we leave
our body and go to sleep. We are then awakened later, summoned by name
to give an account to God for our lives here. But for believers, we have
already passed from death to life, so we do not sleep, but are with the
Lord forever in paradise.

There will never be peace until sin is put away. For each of us
individually that can come through our accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord
and Savior, and in so doing our sin is removed from us. We still live in
this sinful world bearing the inertia and scars from our former sinful
life, and the sinful life all around us. But we ourselves no longer have
sin, and we begin to shine in this world as the guidance of God in the
darkness, giving people light to come to Jesus Christ and be saved too.

When Jesus returns, it will be all over. He will rule and reign with a
strength without measure. Every enemy will be put away, and He will
maintain discipline and order in His Kingdom. And although we think of
such a tight reigning king here upon this Earth as being necessarily
cruel, it is not so with Jesus. He created us to be His, and to prosper
and thrive in His universe. We will be unconstrained, except in the
areas of sin.

Adam and Eve had one rule to obey, for example. The entire Earth was
theirs, and everything in it was given over to them for their
administration. But with one rule to obey, Satan came and tempted them
to breaking that one rule, and the world we live in today is the result.

-----
Jesus Christ is returning soon. His Spirit is being poured out upon men
and women like me as we raise our voices in these end-most times. His
approach is being broadcast by our warnings of His coming, of our warnings
that each person needs to repent of their sin and ask forgiveness from
Jesus Christ in order to have eternal life.

Everyone who seeks the truth will know this. Everyone else will be blinded
to it to their own eternal peril.

Seek the truth on this matter. Resolve solidly within yourself to honestly
seek the matter out, to find out if Jesus is real or not, to find out if
there really is eternal punishment for sin or not, and in the mere setting
your mind upon seeking the truth, God will make it possible for you to come
to the real knowledge of it. It will not be me or another like me teaching
you, but it will be He Himself.

Seek the truth and you will find it, and the truth will make you free (from
the bonds of death, from sin in this world, from the enemy's deception upon
your mind, your life, your actions, your goals, your thinkings, your deeds).
You will not believe the deception that is at work in the world.

Seek the truth and God will do the rest.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Kenny,

I don't know if this address is valid or if this message will get through.
I hope so.

I wanted to ask you a few questions:
(1) Have you looked at the Biblical Jesus in recent months (actually read
about Him from scripture)?

(2) Do you want to have eternal life (without aging, in a perfect body,
without pain, without hunger, without thirst, wrapped in love and inner joy
that fills completely)?

(3) Do you want to seek the truth in the things you pursue in your life?

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin
-----[ End ]-----

They are the questions we need to consider. Particularly #3 -- Do you
want truth in your life? If you do want truth, you will know what to do.
Truth itself will demand action from you, and you will know what to do.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Your point seems to be that people can use whatever email address they
want, and whatever name they want, when posting to Usenet. That is
true. And many people post using fake email addresses (because they
don't want email from other Usenet denizens, or from spam harvesters).
And some people prefer to be anonymous in Usenet by using a pseudonym.
That is all fine.

But please do /not/ copy somebody else's name or address, and make fake
posts in their name - not even to demonstrate that it is possible. It
totally undermines the whole basis of Usenet, which relies on the trust
that people are who they say they are (even if that "person" is a
dedicated Usenet persona rather than a real-life person).

I will add that while many services allow the posting from an invalid
email address, there are few while don't make posting under a forged
email address (the use of someone else's address without their
permission) a violation of their Terms of Service. The few that do allow
for this behavior run on very thin ice, as if their users cause enough
of a problem by doing this, the Usenet Net-Service Community can (and
has) imposed what is called the UDP (Usenet Death Penalty) on that
service until the resolve the problem. A UDP is where the NSPs declare
that NO messages from those services will be propagated on their network.

Lots of typos there.

Of course i should not have done that.

But let the OP (Rick C. Hodgin) also start posting article that are
relavant here (to 'C', not to 'Christ'),

because 'C' might need some explanation to other humans,

and 'Christ' does need explanation, and definetly not here. He can (and
possibly will) defend himself and does not need Rick to do so, at least
not here. There are other place to do that like i.e. this one:

Every person has an appointment with death.

If you're so certain of what happens on the other side of death,
such that you know without a doubt what goes on there, then
you have nothing to fear.

But if you're not so certain as to know for sure, then you owe it to
yourself to seek to find out.

And I'm telling you that if you do this with an honest pursuit of the
truth, then you will find it. God has not only not hidden Himself, but
He is active in your life. He stands at the door and knocks, desiring
to come in and sup with you, and you Him.

He wants to forgive your sin and give you eternal life. His free
gift to you despite your misdeeds and mistakes.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

If you're really his agent, He needs to work a bit more on how that plan
is working out. God may be the Way and the Light, but sending a
gibbering buffoon is a poor way for Him to demonstrate that.

Of course, you may really be an agent of Satan, sent to make
Christianity as unappealing as possible, in which case "Mission
Accomplished"!

Rick's recent big spate of religious posts is clearly off-topic, and I
wish he would stop. I am not against a bit of off-topic discussion in a
newsgroup - I think it adds colour and interest. But it has to be very
much in the minority, and contained neatly in a single thread at a time
- people who don't like that discussion can then easily mark the thread
as "ignored". Ricks posts here have been far outside the levels that I
think are acceptable - that's why I have avoided replying to them.

However, forging posting credentials is, IMHO, a worse "crime". It is
easy to identify and ignore Rick's religious posts - it would become
very hard if we could not trust the names of the authors of posts. I'm
glad it is not going to become a habit.

And it would be nice if Rick accepted that he is not going to convince
anyone in c.l.c. to join his cult at the moment, and moved off to more
fertile grounds for a while. I'd recommend sci.electronics.design.

I'm curious - what did s.e.d ever do to deserve Rick?

Have you ever looked at s.e.d? Theoretically, it is a technical
newsgroup about electronics, but electronics threads are a rarity
(though they have been making a bit of a comeback recently). Mostly it
is politics, religion, conspiracy theories, and a facebook substitute
for retired American electronics engineers. Sometimes threads can be
interesting or entertaining, but I mark most of the threads there as
"ignored" (something I have never bothered doing in c.l.c). If Rick
wants to find people who need "moral guidance", then s.e.d. is a better
spot than c.l.c. - and conversely, s.e.d. is far happier with off-topic
discussions than c.l.c. But Rick should be prepared for a lot less
politeness and tolerance than he gets here!

So it's a newsgroup with enough topical material to make it worth
reading, but a majority of blatantly off-topic material -- and you
propose to make it worse by inviting Rick to participate.

David, what exactly would it take for you to STOP FEEDING THE TROLL?

How about killing all religious/radical nutters like Rick?

As soon as we say something about him, he starts praying for us :-) :-) :-)

The majority of the people who read and post in s.e.d. do so for the
threads that are, according to its original charter, off-topic. So a
religious post in s.e.d. is perfectly acceptable to that group - and
there are many regulars there who would enjoy the thread.

>
> David, what exactly would it take for you to STOP FEEDING THE TROLL?

I was replying to James here - I hope you do not consider him a troll!

You may also notice that my previous posts here have been to Luuk, not
Rick. I admit to having been /tempted/ to reply to Rick or join in some
of the recent threads he has started - as I have said before, I don't
believe there is anything amiss with the occasional off-topic thread
(though I don't like the number of such threads that have been started
recently by Rick). The reason I have refrained from posting is respect
for the opinions and wishes of a number of other regulars here,
including yourself. I only posted in this thread because I saw someone
forging posting credentials - something I consider worse than any number
of religious posts or trolling.

So please, can't you use the threading commands in your newsreader to
simply hide a clearly off-topic thread like this one? I realise you
want to do what you can to hinder c.l.c. from becoming bogged down in
off-topic threads - but I cannot see how you can do it with posts such
as these.
