If you can make sense of Intel's chip numbering, then ARM's should be
easy.  ARMv6, ARMv7, ARMv8, etc., are ISA versions - the logical
processor from the programmer's viewpoint.  ARM7, ARM9, Cortex-M, etc.,
are the core designs that implement one of the ISA's.  It is not
particularly difficult - at least, not for a processor design that
covers so many generations of ISA and so many different cores.
