Which is one of the reasons I suggested more modern Windows, you have 
have the best of both Windows and Linux worlds without all of the 
compromise packages that give you so much to complain about.

I don't think anyone denies it's good to be able to work with zero or 
minimal other software to help out.  Certainly not anyone who has had to 
debug software on remote systems on a serial console over dial-up!  Mind 
you, you probably couldn't do that with a remote Windows 7 machine...
