Assuming Moore's law, we eat a constant number of addressing bits per
year, but that still means that the time between "generations" (from 16
to 32, to 64, to 128, ...) increases exponentially, so it's only normal
that we'd stay for a long while in 64bit and for even loner in 128bit.

If you add the fact that Moore's law may not hold that long, we may
never reach the end of 128bit addresses (or maybe even 64bit addresses
for that matter).
