I was unimpressed by register windows; it seems like more complexity and
not significant return.

I guess the question is, supposing that you have proved that a much
larger GPR file is useful, then do we need to relook this?

VLIW is fine but if we're spending 14 bits per operand and it can be
compressed with little cost...

as opposed to 'just make the cache better!' which is hard to argue
against really
