Then you need to look for another program to use (your current backup 
files will be most likely useless), take a look for fwbackups, bacula, 
Back In Time to mention a few.
I don't have any experience of those, as I use btrfs built in syncing to 
make incremental backups.

I think bacula had incremental backup, please don't take my word on it, 
check it up.
