Probably pretty close to instant. Hull pressure was around 6,000psi,
and composite materials tend to shatter when they fail…even if it started
as a tiny pinhole, it probably would have “unzipped” in TBD milliseconds.

> then...what was all that BANGING they heard before?

Reports didn’t seem to suggest all that much; it could have been just a spurious
random noise from one of the rescue ships which was incorrectly interpreted.

Or it might have been odd noises from something from the debris settling, such
as a not-yet-empty compressed O2 tank slowly dribbling out oxygen, which was
caught in a fragment, filling it up & then “burping”, which causes some dangling
debris to bang around for a minute. Repeat until the O2 tank is empty.

At least I now know I'm not rich. Me? I would rent a remote with
all kinds of lights and cameras connected to big screens in a
comfy room with cushions, root beer, popcorn, a toilet down the
hall. If I wanted to visit a cemetery, there plenty nearby.

Being a commie, I think if you're that bored with your money that
you need to risk your life, give all your money to the poor and
then experience the excitement of getting rich again.

Now *there's* an interesting idea! Almost as good as reincarnation.

That would fit the account of the banging noise being heard about every thirty minutes.

Another reasonable possibility is the ongoing internal collapse of the Titanic itself…

It sure as hell wasn't anyone banging on the inside of the sub. That thing had
imploded at the moment communication with the surface ship was lost. The
implosion is *why* communication was lost — they were all dead a couple of hours
after beginning the descent.

It's true that Hollywood will ignore any laws of physics[*] that get in
the way of the plot.

Still, I have hope that rich people paying absurd amounts to do stupidly
dangerous things and then dying as a result, will not attract any
production money.

Sylvia.

[*] Actually, anything at all, which is why, for example, the control
circuitry for electronic locks is always on the outside where a decent
hammer is all that is needed to affect entry (don't even need the magic
decoding boxes that Hollywood tends to use).

NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center had a Space Act Agreement with OceanGate and consulted on materials and manufacturing processes for the submersible.
For the safety of our team members during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as limited resources and availability, NASA Marshall engineers only participated remotely
in technical interchange meetings, providing consultation for materials and manufacturing processes based on industry standards.

blame it on the chink virus!

To put it simply...NASA FUCKED UP AGAIN!

Ask any teacher if they will in one built by NASA...

Every time NASA sends something up in the sky...people close their eyes and ears and scream..."IT'S GOING TO FUCKING EXPLODE!!!!"

Why would anybody get into anything built by NASA? YOU THINK THEY GIVE A FUCK IF YOU DIE?????

Who's idea was it to use a gamepad joystick to Navigate dat sub???? WHO????

NASA...it couldn't be anybody else.

Only NASA thinks of things like that!
