You certainly see the problem:

do have political leaders the right to forbid Christians to celebrate 
Christmas (in their states, with other majority religion)?

I would say: no, they don't have such a right.

First: the majority of people does not decide over the minority religion.

Second: let's assume the monotheistic hypothesis is in fact true, than 
prosecution of the celebration of the birthday of a prophet would be  an 
insult to such a supernatural being.

This is true, even if the specific details of a certain believe are not 
exactly correct, since it's not up to the Muslims to decide, when to 
celebrate the Birthday of Jesus.

The Christians (on the other hand) will not interfere in equivalent 
celebrations of the birthday of Mohammed (even if Muslims are a minority 
in Christian nations).
