"Send email to thousands within minutes BetterMail is a NZ based email service provider with the easiest way to create, send, share and track marketing emails. With bulk sending, a drag and drop editor, feature rich plans and NZ based support you can't go wrong." Sounds to me like Bettermail is service designed for spammers. Am I wrong? -- John C. And, after getting their system up, the wait will be even longer to get the free service tier. https://blog.thunderbird.net/2025/04/thundermail-and-thunderbird-pro-services/ "So here is the plan: at the beginning, there will be paid subscription plans at a few different tiers. Once we have a sufficiently strong base of paying users to sustainably support our services, we plan to introduce a limited free tier to the public." The announcement is 2 months old. Anyone yet get access even if they are paying for it? Back in 2004, and earlier, getting a free e-mail account independent of your ISP was a big deal, and users were willing to wait for an invite. Free e-mail accounts are rife nowadays, so if Thunder devs take too long then the hoopla over their service will fade, and they may not get sufficient freeloaders that convert to paid customers to sustain their services. I haven't even them trying to paying customers which would then later afford a free service tier. I've not seen any marketing push for Thundermail. Seems their announcement was premature. I have not found a published timeline or road map for public consumption. We wouldn't know if the project stalls, and dies, or is still being worked on.
