I do like the way Win 11 allows switching between audio devices easily by switching them after clicking the icon in the notification area. It allows proper naming and is easily done. Volume is nicely controlled with the mouse by just hovering over and scrolling. All Good. All the programs I've tried so far, Firefox for example, seem to allow switching between speakers and headphones on the fly, except iTunes. If iTunes is open and using speakers, it simply will not allow you to go to headphones without closing the program and reopening it after switching source. Then, if you want to get off headphones, it will not allow you to switch back unless you close and re-open again It's not a big deal, I just kind of am wondering why? I wouldn't think it would be able to hijack sound options like this? -- Better Days Ahead! Darwanism Is Junk Science!!

You have to use the settings inside the iTunes program and change from using "Windows Audio Session" to using "Direct Sound". Close and restart iTunes required. Then the audio sound output can be changed using the volume icon in the taskbar like other programs do. > <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255491701?sortBy=rank>
